Chapter Ethics Committee

The Chapter Ethics Committee (CEC) is responsible for assisting the NASW Office of Ethics and Professional Review (OEPR) in addressing complaints filed against members in accord with the Association’s policy on professional review.

Beda Heribson

Beda Herbison ( BFA, MSW, LICSW) - Worked at the VA Medical Center, Seattle from 2000 - 2011. Assignments included the Geriatric Clinic, The MS Clinic, Spinal Cord Injury Clinic and Community Programs. Within the Community Programs, coordinated the Homemaker Home Health Aid (HHHA) program, the Adult Day Health Program and was a case manager for the Nursing Home Care Program. Developed end of life decision making while at the VA; in retirement volunteered for End of Life Washington (at the time, it was Compassion & Choices Washington State) for about 3 years. Currently providing supervision for licensure with Multicare Home Health & Hospice, Tacoma, WA and a few social workers within not-for-profit agencies.

Emily is a licensed clinical social worker with ten years of clinical experience and over ten years of experience as a social work educator in higher education. She is a longtime NASW member and has been serving on the NASW Board since 2017.

Christopher Heckert, MSW, LICSW, CMHS

Chris Heckert (MSW, LICSW, CMHS) - Christopher is a licensed clinical social worker and child mental health specialist with a private practice in Bellingham, WA. He earned his Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California and is currently a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) student at the University of St. Thomas. Christopher is also adjunct faculty at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.

Allison Bennett
NASW WA Chapter Eastern Washington Region
Allison Bennett (MSW, LICSW)- Allison Bennett lives and works in Spokane, Washington. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and English Literature from Western Washington University, and her Master of Social Work (Mental Health Concentration) degree from the University of Southern California.

Garrett Hebel, MSW, LICSW, SUDP
NASW WA Chapter President Elect 2020-2021
With a Bachelors in Social Work and Spanish from Loras College in Dubuque, IA, and a Master of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago, Garrett moved to Seattle in 2016 when he joined Harborview Medical Center in Seattle to serve as a Mental Health Practitioner, in which he provides outpatient assessment, case management, referral, and group and individual therapy for clients with mental health and substance use disorders. Garrett holds licenses in WA as an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Substance Use Disorder Professional.
