Workshop summary: A critical look at diversity, equity and inclusion work and developing strategies to support and nurture the creative formation of sustained change.
Objectives:
- To give participants a Macro, Mezzo and Micro view of DEI initiatives and the unintended consequences of these initiatives.
- To introduce a conceptual framework that may support and sustain the DEI work that occurred during the pandemic.
- Provide a safe space for participants to explore the collective creative knowledge of the group through exercises and etc.
Presenter Bio: Oscar Harris, MSW, Ed.D., ESA
Oscar Harris is the Chief Family and Community Engagement Officer for Spokane Public Schools. He advises senior leadership on family and community engagement practices. He also oversees the implementation of equity resolution, which includes developing and overseeing the implementation of culturally relevant trainings and equitable practices district-wide. Dr. Harris serves as adjunct faculty for Eastern Washington University (social work program) and Whitworth University (counseling program) teaching research methods.
